Regenesis Rewards · Patent pending

Tapping the retail spending cycle to restore balance.

Everyday local spending becomes a continuous funding stream for regeneration. No donations, no sacrifice, and no change to how people shop.

The program

Regenesis Rewards

Our patent-pending Regenesis Rewards Program evolved from the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is limited to major corporations and does not have a functional component for resolving environmental or societal challenges. Instead, we apply Regenesis to single owner businesses up to Small Medium Enterprises that have a retail component that sells goods or services directly to final consumers. Regenesis supports the growth of sales, driving new customers, and retaining customers, all the while creating perpetual funding for socio-environmental projects.

Regenesis works through the discount and loyalty budgets stores already spend to create the funding. Regenesis and the retailers agree to a percentage of sales we call the Discount Division Value (DDV). When a member shops, the DDV splits 50/50: half goes straight back to the member as instant savings off the purchase, and half goes to the Environmental Project Fund (EPF), which pays for regeneration. The business gets a guaranteed sale, with no up-front fees, no commitment and pays only half of the DDV after that sale. The process links retail spending to socio-environmental regeneration to create perpetual, increasing funding where no one needs to donate money or time.

The reward split

How a reward is created

Reward rates are a 4% overall average, with 1–2% in low-margin categories.

$100member’s purchase (illustrative)
$4.00DDV at a 4% rate
$2.00back to the member as instant savings
$2.00to the Environmental Project Fund (EPF)

For a profitable business, the real cost is lower than the headline reward because both halves reduce pre-tax income: about $3.16 after tax on a $100 sale at 4% (a ceiling, at a 21% rate).

For shoppers

How it works

  1. Become a memberFree, with no obligations.
  2. Shop locallyAt participating businesses in the Regenesis directory.
  3. Show your Regenesis IDThe QR code on your phone, at checkout.
  4. The reward is appliedAt the business’s agreed rate.
  5. 50/50Half back to you as instant savings, half to the regeneration fund.

No subscriptions. No fees. No commitments. You save money on purchases you were already going to make, and regeneration gets funded in the process.

Social & Environmental Impact

Measuring Retail Responsibility

Environmental Social Accountability (ESA) is the Regenesis Rewards scoring system: one score from 1 to 100 that measures a business’s environmental and social practice.

The social side is an assessment of how the business treats its employees, its customers, and its community. The environmental side is based on the impact of the business on our planetary environment, largely through its supply chain. This is not a new concept; rather, we have evolved a new way to apply it with some additions.

Few if any retail sector businesses do any direct substantial harm to the environment. They are stores and warehouses, so their direct environmental responsibility is fairly simple to establish. The social responsibility aspect is based on how the businesses handle employees, customers, and community relationships and is also fairly simple to assess.

The score is actually weighted mainly towards their Business to Business (B2B) activities: who they are doing business with for products they source to sell, and even services. Our goal is to trace the supply chain back to the industrial sector of our society where we do the actual damage to our planet. Very few people know exactly what goes on at that level, which is where we want to support industries to make the changes we all need to see.

What ESA does

ESA doesn’t set the reward rate. It multiplies what the EPF share produces, in Planetary Improvement Points (PIPs). PIPs are digital value units created by a simple formula: ESA score × the retailer’s half of the established discount reward amount ÷ 100. PIPs are used to pay workers and fund projects. A participating retail business with an optimized supply chain produces more impact from the same sale: more PIPs = more projects.

Where the money goes

The Environmental Project Fund (EPF)

Half of every discount reward created in Regenesis goes to the Environmental Project Fund, which pays for regeneration.

60% local

Projects in the regional communities of the participating retailers where the sales take place.

40% global

Environmental projects in underdeveloped countries, such as EarthFood and other environmental regeneration projects.

Regional Pilot

Proving it works

A 90-day proof of concept taking place in a major US city targeting 35 local businesses and 1500-2000 members.

The pilot will show how shoppers take part, businesses run the reward at checkout, and the EPF receives real funds. This sets the stage for the first full scale operation that will take place between the US and a Central American country.

Transforming Everyday Actions into Environmental Change

Profiting for the Planet

The Regenesis program is a way for us to harness our existing socio-economic systems and habits to make the changes no one can really afford to make. We build companies to make a profit, we work to make a profit to spend money on things we need and things we want. We may “want” to help restore our planet and change things in a positive way, but we simply don’t have the resources. We are driven by economics.

Donations and grants are insufficient and unsustainable, so environmental programs don’t get done. With Regenesis Rewards, we all earn money doing the same things we do every day, with no need to make any changes. Consumers make a profit, businesses make a profit, and everyone wins with no need to donate money or time. This is our audacious idea, and we invite you to become part of it.
